For the last six years of my life I've been performing with a small circus as an independent artist.  In the circus, I've stilt walked, eatin fire, juggled for birthday parties, made balloon animals at festivals, delt texas holdem at corporate events and was even one time flown out to Texas to entertain a vacation bible school. Even after having done all that, I've never worked a gig crazier thatn Breyer fest.  I'll never forget the first Breyer fest I worked just over three years ago. At first I had no idea what a Breyer was, just that this thing was at the Kentucky Horse Park, there were a few thousand people there, half of them were sporting ariat boots and the other half were sporting comfy gym shoes.

 It wasn't until I walked into the arena that began to understand what was happening. The entire festival was celebrating miniature model horses!  First of all, I did not know that these things existed and that people were absolutely crazy about them! It was seriously mind blowing to see all those people, from all over the United States, gathering to buy and sell these horses.  I've had the privilage of going back to work this festival three times now and have loved it to no end everytime. The horse shows this year that they had in the arena were incredible. There was this really awesome team of gymnasts that had learned to trick ride and this incredibly huge horse named Kong. This horse weighed two thousand pounds and it was just insane to see some average man in his phoenix vest absolutely dwarfed by the size of this horse.

One of the coolest things about this year at Breyer fest was that my newly wedded wife was able to come with me. She came along with the rest of our small troop of entertainers as a stilt walking princess and face painter. I had tried to convince her for a while that the trip was worthwhile but she didn’t realize how incredible it was until we actually got there and she saw it for herself. It wasn’t two hours into weekend until she asked me if we could buy her a pair of womens ariat boots. Now my wife’s a cowgirl.
